FEATURED LOCATION Damen Silos/Santa Fe Grain Elevator
In college, I took three separate trips to visit the Damen Silos on the south bank of the Chicago River — and it's not easy to get there without a car! I was so intrigued that I wrote this super-long history of the place for my college magazine. To this day, it lives on as an ode to old buildings and an exploration into one particular story (as told through explosions).
